Look what arrived this morning!

Sorry for the crappy photo, hello phone camera!

So, so, so excited to use this, but considering I've got 3 exams next week I should really wait until they're done with to have a play :(

I'll put some pictures up on Thursday once they're over!

The Body Shop Warming Mineral Mask

Hi!

As I mentioned in one of my last posts, I used to work for the Body Shop at Home. It was great, but having only just turned 18 I was vastly inexperienced with any type of sales, and trust me, going to the houses of women almost 30 years older than you and trying to teach them about beauty products is SO difficult! It was only a small job that I took up along side college and M&S, I never had any time to myself so I gave it up just before Christmas. The only problem with that being I now have a ridiculous amount of 1/4 used beauty products for all different skin types, different genders and different age groups that I don't have the heart to throw away but am never going to use by myself. And so, the great 'use up challenge' of 2012 begins!

For the first review, I thought I'd test their Warming Mineral Mask. Described as a 'self-warming, deep cleansing kaolin clay treatment for all skin types' designed to be used 1-2 times a week. The mask is a weird texture, like a paste that's half melted (does that make sense?). It has ginger and cinnamon oils for 'invigoration' but the scent is actually pretty light.

After cleansing and toning you apply a generous amount to wet skin (the Zeolite in the product reacts with water to create heat) and leave for 5 minutes before removing. To start with I cleanse and tone using The Body Shop's Vitamin E Cleanser and Toner.

First time round I used a fairly small amount (see below) because often my skin and face masks don't agree. There was a tiny bit of redness as you can see, but the camera's made it look a lot worse than it was don't worry! The warming feeling is lovely (though slightly worrying at first!) but only lasted for about a minute, five minutes after applying it and there's no difference between this and a normal one.

Taking the mask off is a pain, I can never seem to remove it all and am left with a chalky feeling for the rest of the night. It also left my skin feeling pretty dry, I don't know whether this was just the chalkiness or whether it had actually dried my skin out, either way I'm not a fan of that!

Overall it's a nice product to own, but to me the warming sensation seems a bit gimmicky and I can't stand the chalky feeling I'm left with, so at £9 a pop without any noticeable results I think I'll have to let this go. On the Body Shop's website it's got 4.5/5 stars for reviews, so maybe it's just my skin type, but you don't know until you've tried it! I might put this on a blog sale soon so keep an eye out!

See you soon! :) xx

Travel Makeup!

Hi!

It's coming up to exam time so I've not been on here much, sorry! As you may know, I'm going on holiday for 7 weeks to Thailand in June and I've just started buying stuff for my travel make up/supplies bag. We're going when there can be up to 90% humidity (my poor hair!) and temperatures up to 30 degrees so I really need to prepare with products that aren't likely to melt!

I'll be posting in this next week about the stuff I've started getting ready, and if you've got any suggestions let me know! :)

The Body Shop's Hemp Hand Protector Review

Apologies for the photo quality, I've lost my memory card for my camera! :(

Hi! Today I've got The Body Shop's Hemp Hand Protector, which is one of my favourite hand creams I've ever owned. My mum used to work for The Body Shop at Home, as did I for a short while last year but couldn't keep up with it due to college, so I've had my fair share of their products and this one definitely comes out on top! Also, it's now half price for £5 on their website so snap it up quickly.

It's made for 'extremely dry skin' however mines relatively dry, I wouldn't say extremely so, and using this twice a day has helped to keep my scaly skin at bay without being greasy. I can't stand those hand creams that just won't sink in but this does the trick alright. It's supposedly non-scented, but it actually smells a little bit like playdough haha!

It's a handy thing to keep in your bag, and works great on any little dry patches you need to fight off during the day! For £5 it's definitely worth getting, even if it's just to use on those days when you need a little more moisturising power!

NOTW: Models Own Disco Mix

My absolute favourite combination of polish recently, Models Own Coral Reef, Disco Mix and their fabulous 3in1 top coat!

(in case you're wondering, yes that is The Aristocats that I've taken a photo of them on :p)

Instagram Saturdays!

Organised my box of polishes last night, 46 and there's about 15 others floating around the house that I haven't seen in weeks!
